Commissioner Garcia was born and raised in Santa Fe. He attended the Santa Fe Public Schools and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1988. He has recently retired from Santa Fe County where he was employed for over twenty-five (25) years, and is currently serving as County Commissioner for Santa Fe County District 3. Rudy is also a member of the Santa Fe Public School Board. A passionate public servant, Rudy Garcia has continuously been involved with several non-profit organizations, including: the Citizens Review Committee for 10+ years, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Fe for 10+ years, Adoration Community Theology and Service Mission for 5+ years and the Santa Fe Mountain Center for over 12 years. During his tenure on the Citizens Review Committee, he was directly involved with the recommendation of over $200 million dollars in General Obligation Bonds (GOB). Rudy has currently taken on the role as a member of New Mexico School Board Association, and plans to run for a second term as School Board member.
