The following items are accepted:
• Televisions ($10 disposal fee per TV)
• Computers, servers and laptops
• Computer components and equipment such as keyboards, mice, wires, cables
• Flat screen monitors
• Old-style CRT computer monitors ($5 disposal fee per CRT Monitor)
• Printers and scanners
• Fax machines
• Telephones and cell phones
• Palm Pilots and hand-held electronic devices
• Lead Acid Batteries, computer back-up batteries, UPS batteries
• TV satellite equipment
• VCRs and CD players
• Stereo equipment
• Computer and TV game assemblies
• Cameras and video cameras
All Hard Drives containing sensitive information are wiped at our facility with a DoD overwrite process. This process writes information over every sector of the hard drive up to 4 times destroying any information contained on the hard drive. If a hard drive is nonworking or will not otherwise accept a wipe the hard drive is crushed with a 7-ton press.
Items not accepted:
• Coffee makers
• Alkaline batteries (ex. AAA, AA, C or D cell batteries)
• Hair dryers
• Bread machines
• Light bulbs of any kind
• Cardboard or paper
• Appliances including microwave ovens
• Household hazardous waste
