Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Elections Warehouse
Set for Monday, October 21, 2024
The Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly acquired Santa Fe County Elections Warehouse, located at 242 Dinosaur Trail, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The new facility will enhance the efficiency of election operations and is an essential step toward modernizing how elections are managed in Santa Fe County.
This project was made possible through the support and funding from the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners and New Mexico State Legislators, whose partnership has laid the foundation for future improvements. The warehouse will house the County’s absentee ballot sorting machine, which will begin to streamline election processes and increase the speed and accuracy of ballot handling.
"With the acquisition of this facility, Santa Fe County is taking a significant step forward in our efforts to modernize election operations," said Katharine E. Clark, Santa Fe County Clerk. "The installation of the new absentee ballot sorting machine is only the beginning. We envision this warehouse becoming a state-of-the-art hub that will further enhance the security, efficiency, and capacity of our election process."
Following the ribbon-cutting, commissioners and legislators will be offered a tour of the facility, where they will have the opportunity to view the new space and see the absentee ballot sorting machine in action. The event will provide valuable insight into the County’s ongoing commitment to election modernization.
