Romero Park – Development Plan / Upcoming Improvements

Located within the traditional Village of Agua Fria, the 82-acre Romero Park serves as a community park and offers an array of community amenities. The Romero Park site houses the Agua Fria Fire Station, the Nancy Rodriguez Community Center, La Familia Southside Clinic, and river frontage along the Santa Fe River. Existing park elements include play areas, a picnic shelter, restrooms, a community lawn, dog park, prescription walking trails, and a baseball field. Phase I improvements to the park were completed in 2016. Additional improvements have been funded for implementation in 2019.

Santa Fe County is currently working on a Development Plan and upcoming improvements to Romero Park and is seeking input from the public on the plan and items Santa Fe County should consider as part of this next round of improvements.

If you are interested in hearing about the project and would like to provide us with additional information to benefit the park, we invite you to attend a public input meeting on Wednesday, June 27th. Members of the project team and County staff will be there to present recommended project improvements and address your questions.
