Celebrate Earth Day
Santa Fe County is sponsoring a special event at the County Fairgrounds to celebrate Earth Day! Visitors can learn from rainwater harvesting experts, help put the finishing touches on a new rain garden, get answers to your gardening questions from Master Gardeners, enjoy live music, and learn about local sustainability initiatives! Representatives from Santa Fe County and community organizations will be sharing resources and activities at booths throughout the event.
Schedule
9:00 - 9:30 a.m.: Breakfast snacks & refreshments
9:30 - 10:20 a.m.: Presentations from The RainCatcher, Inc. and Santa Fe Extension Master Gardeners
10:20 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Hands-on gardening activities and music
Registration: Registration is encouraged. Click here to sign up. Participants will be required to sign a waiver before participating in any gardening activities. Click here to download the waiver.
What to bring: Come dressed to spend the morning outdoors learning and gardening! Please bring a reusable water bottle or mug if you have one. You are encouraged to bring gardening gloves and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes if you will be participating in any gardening activities.
Safety: Participants (adult and youth) will be required to sign a waiver at the event before participating in any gardening activities. Participants are expected to adhere to COVID-19 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New Mexico Department of Health regarding social distancing and use of masks. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have recently been exposed to COVID-19.
