Santa Fe County produces an ACFR in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles for government, and with the requirements of the New Mexico Office of the State Auditor. The ACFR is audited annually by an external independent audit. The goal of the independent audit is to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements of the County are free material misstatement. The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting to Santa Fe County for its ACFRs in fiscal years 2011 through 2022.
