5 DAYS 5 SITES ONE RIVER - Free public events for the Santa Fe River

Wednesday, May 15 at 1 pm

Randall Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary: “Nature Walk and Native Species Performance” with Rio Grande School. Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Audubon Center: free refreshments, birds from Santa Fe Raptors, and more! With artist Bobbe Besold.

Thursday, May 16 at 11:15 am

Paseo de Peralta and north of East Alameda (look for the blue banners): “The Reimagining of Bishop’s Pond and the Rio Chiquito,” art walk. Wear blue, bring an umbrella and water. With artist Dominique Mazeaud.

Friday, May 17 at  6 pm

Agua Fria Road at San Isidro Crossing: Two free performances at the amphitheater--“East – West Intersecting,” artists Sydney Cooper and Edie Tsong. “Once Upon a Time There Was Water” poets Jazz Cuffee, Jamie Figueroa, Valerie Martínez and Shelle Sánchez.

Saturday, May 18 at 9 am

Village of La Bajada: Guided hike. Meet at the parking area by the old 66 bridge at La Bajada. Wear a hat, bring water and snacks.

Frenchy’s Field: Water Wheel Ceremony with the Water Awareness Group.

Monday May 20, times and location TBA

Cochiti Pueblo at the Rio Grande. Paper boat launch with fourth and fifth graders from Cochiti School and potluck picnic.

Santa Fe Community Foundation: Water Matters: What is the role of art and artists in protecting and restoring our rivers? Film, poetry, art and performance by Bobbe Besold, Valerie Martinez and Dominique Mazeaud: an Amigos Bravos event.
