Santa Fe County Commissioner Harry Montoya hosted a community meeting in Pojoaque to discuss the Aamodt Settlement Agreement.  The meeting provided an overview of the Aamodt Settlement Agreement, which is aimed at resolving the four Aamodt Pueblo water claims while protecting non-pueblo water users.  Santa Fe County Water Attorney John Utton described why a settlement is preferred to litigation and discussed the pueblo concessions and gains outlined in the document.  A description of Santa FeCounty’s involvement in the settlement led to Water and Wastewater Operations Manager Doug Sayre describing the nut and bolts of the regional water system.  The County presentation ended with a legislative update followed by lively question and answer session.
