Aamodt Settlement Outreach Workshops and Office Hours

Santa Fe, NM – February 26, 2014 - Santa Fe County with the UNM Utton Center, Joe Stell Ombudsman Program are hosting 12 evening workshops and 12 days of office hours to inform the public of the Aamodt Settlement (Pojoaque Valley Pueblos’ water right settlement) and the choices which the Court is requiring non-Pueblo water right owners to make. Recently, the Court mailed a Notice and Order to Show Cause document to all affected residents.

Workshops are scheduled from 6-8 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through April 3, 2014. A full schedule including locations and availability are posted at www.santafecountynm.gov. The workshops are geared towards providing information and answering questions on the Settlement. The Court requires water right owners in the Pojoaque Valley who wish to file an objection to do so by April 7, 2014.

Registration is required for each workshop, attendance is limited to 30 people per workshop. Workshop spots are rapidly filling. Community members can sign up for the workshops by calling Darcy Bushnell at (505)-277-0551 or emailing bushnell@law.unm.eduto make a reservation.

In addition to the workshops, office hours will be held every Wednesday through April 2 from 6 – 8 p.m. and every Saturday through April 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe County Pojoaque Satellite Office, 5 West Gutierrez, Suite 9, Pojoaque, NM (in the Pojoaque Pueblo Plaza).

The Santa Fe County Pojoaque Satellite office has copies of Aamodt Settlement Handouts and Notice and Order to Show Cause documents (in English and Spanish) available for the public. The public may also review other Settlement reports at the satellite office.
