Agua Fria Phase III Road and Utility Reconstruction

Santa Fe – January 20, 2011 – Santa Fe County Public Works Department would like to inform residents regarding the Agua Fria Phase III Road and Utility Reconstruction project work zone area and estimated work dates. The work zone will be located on Santa Fe County Road 66, Aqua Fria Street between Henry Lynch Road and the San Ysidro Crossing. Star Paving Company began work yesterday, January 19, for the construction of a new sanitary sewer, waterline and storm drain improvements. Once the utility work is complete, the reconstruction of this section will start, including paving this section of roadway and reconstructing the curb, gutter and sidewalk. The reconstruction is expected to be completed by July 22, 2011.

The limits of this project extend from just east of Henry Lynch Road west to San Ysidro Crossing for approximately eight-tenths of a mile.

To accommodate a safe work zone, traffic on this section of Agua Fria Street will be restricted to one (1) lane during the working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday utilizing a flagging operation with a pilot vehicle to control the flow of traffic. During non-working hours, the roadway will return to two (2) lanes. Access to all businesses on this section of road including Agua Fria Elementary School and San Ysidro Parish Center will be accessible at all times.

Drivers should seek an alternate route, expect delays, use caution and allow additional time when utilizing the work zone. Santa Fe County would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation during this project.
