Detours are in place to re-route traffic on Agua Fria Road as school resumes next week. Detours are still in place on Aqua Fria and Henry Lynch as well as Aqua Fria and Lopez Lane with both detours diverting traffic on to Rufina Street as well as West Alameda.

The County met with the principal of Aqua Fria Elementary last week, provided an update on the progress and schedule of the excavation, and continued closure of Aqua Fria. The County is also communicating with the Traffic Director for Santa Fe Public Schools.

The archaeological excavation on Aqua Fria is being done in two Phases. The current Phase 1 is on the east side of the Aqua Fria/ San Ysidro Intersection. Excavation and road repairs are scheduled to be completed in early October.

Phase 2 will involve working on the west side of the Aqua Fria/San Ysidro intersection and is estimated to be completed in November.

Aqua Fria will be closed during the archaeological excavation and road repair process.
