BCC Summary February 9, 2016
Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All five Commissioners were present.
The meeting minutes from the January 12, 2016 BCC Meeting were passed by unanimous vote, 5-0.
The Board of County Commissioners recessed to conduct a site visit and inspection of the County Adult Detention Facility and Youth Development Program Pursuant to NMSA 1978, § 33-3-4.
Action Items – All items approved by unanimous vote, 5-0
Appointments/Reappointments/Resignations
- Ernesto Ortega and John Parker were reappointed for a three year term to the County Open Lands, Trails, and Parks Advisory Committee (COLTPAC)
Resolutions
- Resolution No. 2016-18, Approved the Water Policy Advisory Committee’s Calendar Year 2016 Work Plan.
- Resolution No. 2016-17, Recognized the Value of National Public Lands to Santa Fe County.
- Resolution No. 2016-16, Supported State Legislation That Would Meet Real ID Act Requirements and Ensure New Mexico Residents Do Not Need to Obtain a Passport to Board a Commercial United States Airline.
Miscellaneous
- Discussion and Possible Action on Matters that Could Be Considered by the 52ndNew Mexico Legislature. Approved a motion for Santa Fe County to oppose any legislation that requires or invokes a pre-emption of local authority. Approved by unanimous vote, 5-0.

- Threatened or Pending Litigation in which Santa Fe County is or may Become a Participant, as Allowed by Section 10-15-1(H)(7) NMSA 1978, and Discussion of the Purchase, Acquisition or Disposal of Real Property or Water Rights, as allowed by Section 10-15-1(H)(8) NMSA 1978, Including the Following:
o Litigation Involving Santa Fe Film and Media Studios, Inc. and La Luz Holdings, LLC.
o Rights of Way for County Roads.
o Litigation Concerning Buckman Direct Diversion Structure Issues.

No actions were taken by the Board as a result of Closed Executive Session.
