Brief Summary


County Wins Award From Economic Development Department– Santa Fe County was awarded recertification from the New Mexico Economic Development Department as a Certified Community.  The Certified Community Initiative is a program to encourage diverse business and employment opportunities.  The County is recognized for developing and adopting planning strategies and regulations that provide diverse, stable, career-oriented employment opportunities for all citizens including youth and senior citizens.

Courthouse Design Approved
– The Commission approved the latest design of the Courthouse with positive comments from Mayor Coss and Historic Board Chair, Sharon Woods.  The project now begins the next phase.

Transit Tax– A new ordinance will be proposed authorizing a County Regional Transit Gross Receipts Tax.  The tax will help to offset expenses for the Rail Runner.  Public hearings on the ordinance will occur in the next month.
