Board of County Commissioners Seek Public Participation for Redistricting

Santa Fe, NM – October 7, 2011- The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will have the second and final public hearing on Tuesday, October 11 at approximately 4 p.m. in the County Commission Chambers, 102 Grant Ave. to review the final two redistricting options. At this time the BCC will receive public comment and discussion on the redistricting options.

The two redistricting options with County and City maps, population breakdowns, redistricting narrative, population change comparisons and current boundaries along with additional information can be found at www.santafecountynm.govunder Hot Topics by clicking on Redistricting Information. In addition to the online information, large wall size maps of each option have been posted adjacent to the GIS office downstairs in the County Administration Building, 102 Grant Ave. for public review.

"Redistricting is important and I applaud those who have been participating in this process and have provided input and encourage all residents to participate and provide feedback," said Commission Chair, Virginia Vigil.

The BCC will vote on a final option at the October 11, 2011 meeting immediately following the public hearing.
