Breathe In: Santa Fe County Ranks 6th In National Clean Air Rankings

Santa Fe – May 2, 2007 – Santa Fe County’s air is the 6th cleanest in America, according to a report released
this week by the American Lung Association. At the other end of the spectrum, Los Angeles had the most
polluted air. “Air pollution shortens lifespan, it lands our children and elderly in emergency rooms, and it can
make children and teens more vulnerable to lung disease for the rest of their lives” said Dr. Terri E. Weaver,
American Lung Association Chair.
“Its our responsibility to protect this precious resource for the generations to follow” said Santa Fe County
Commissioner Paul Campos “That’s why in projects like our new Public Works facility, we have been
meticulous about making sure County buildings are designed and built in an energy efficient and
environmentally-friendly way.”
