Chimayó Community Plan Review Draft Open House and Presentation
Santa Fe, NM – April 22, 2014 - Santa Fe County, in collaboration with the Chimayó Planning Committee is hosting a Community Open House and presentation on Thursday, April 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bennie J. Chavez Community Center on Juan Medina Road. The Open House will introduce the Chimayó Community Review Draft to the community and initiate a final review process for adoption. A formal presentation on the Community Review Draft will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The final review process is seeking input and feedback from residents, business owners and public and non-profit partners. The planning effort was initiated in the spring of 2012 and has engaged numerous community members, organizations, local government and public agencies in both Santa Fe and Rio Arriba County. The plan identifies key issues that impact the entire community and provides recommendations that in many cases will require close collaboration between the local community and county, state and federal governments.
Once the Community Review Draft has been thoroughly reviewed by community members revisions will be incorporated into a final community plan and submitted to Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners for consideration of approval as an amendment to the Santa Fe County Sustainable Growth Management Plan.
