Community Member to Local Hero: Volunteer with Santa Fe County Fire
“When your neighbors are trained, together, we can make a difference at home!”
SANTA FE, NM – This holiday season, the Santa Fe County Fire Department (SFCFD) invites you to give the most meaningful gift of all—your time. By volunteering as a firefighter or support responder, you can help protect your community from wildfires and man-made disasters. Together, we can build a safer future for our homes, families, and environment.
Our goal? To grow our volunteer ranks to 200 members by 2028. More trained responders mean faster, more effective emergency responses—and we need you to help us get there.
Volunteers Don’t Just Fight Fires—There’s a Role for Everyone!
From action-packed emergency roles to critical behind-the-scenes support, there are many ways to serve:
Incident Rehabilitation
