Construction To Start on Herrada Road

Santa Fe, NM – September 2, 2014 -The Board of County Commissioners approved a construction services contract for improvements to Herrada Road. On Thursday, September 4, 2014 a preconstruction meeting will be held with residents along Herrada Road. Construction will begin on Friday, September 5, 2014 with the contractors mobilizing the site, relocating mailboxes and removing culverts from driveways.

Herrada Road is a 1.92 mile dirt surface road located in Eldorado. The contractor for the project is Mountain State Constructors and the project amount is $1,205,496.26 exclusive of Gross Receipts Tax. Funding was allocated from a 2013 General Obligation Bond, New Mexico Department of Transportation State Grant and District 5 County discretionary funds.

The construction project includes: redesign of bar ditches, new drainage culverts, subgrade preparation, base course, asphalt paving, stripping and relocation of mailboxes and road signage. Please note the contractor will ensure that all mailboxes will be in service and driveways will be operational during construction. The project should be completed in 90 days, weather permitting.
