County Administrative Offices Closed in Observation of Indigenous Peoples Day
SANTA FE, NM –In honor of the eight Pueblo Nations and Indigenous peoples from diverse sovereign nations that thrive within our community, Santa Fe County announces the closure of its administrative offices on Monday, October 14, 2024, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. All County offices will resume regular hours on Tuesday, October 15.
This closure aligns with the usual Monday closure of the Solid Waste Convenience Centers and the temporary closure of all senior centers. All activities at Senior Centers will be canceled and extra home-delivered meals will be provided to eligible seniors in advance of the holiday. Essential services provided by Public Safety will continue without interruption.
Indigenous Peoples' Day provides our community an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing struggles of Indigenous peoples of this land, while celebrating their resilience, self-determination, and the enduring cultural values they contribute to both the County and the country.
