Gus Martinez, the Santa Fe County Assessor, has worked diligently to increase online services. Many services are available online such as: Parcel Map Search, Online Live Chat, Protesting Online, Online feedback, and social media.
“We recently incorporated additional functionality to our parcel map tool that allows people to query and export our data for multiple parcels,” said County Assessor Gus Martinez. He continued,“It is essential to continue to expand services to help reach our constituents and have information readily available online to them.”
We encourage residents to visit our website and explore the online tools section, ask questions via the live chat, or leave feedback.
“The Office of the Santa Fe County Assessor will continue to implementing new technology to better serve the community, we take great pride in helping constituents with online services and in person in our office,” said County Assessor Gus Martinez.
Below you can find a full description of each service.
Online Live Chat
To the extent of our knowledge we are the only government entity in New Mexico with an online live chat feature. The online live chat feature provides numerous opportunities. Our staff has the ability to assist users with locating information in multiple departments, as well as attach files sent directly to the user. Online Live Chat guides users via chat through the user friendly navigation on our website, supplies links to download forms, as well as provides contact information for other departments.
Parcel Map Search
Parcel Map Search gives users various capabilities for example: obtaining Ownership information, owner mailing information, Notices of value, viewing assessed heated square footage of a property along with building outlines in both residential and commercial buildings, obtaining parcel numbers, deed books and pages, plat books and pages (when available), finding all properties for a specific owner, find all properties in a specific neighborhood. They also have the ability to export multiple mailing addresses within a defined perimeter to an excel spreadsheet. The Parcel Map Search can be viewed in Satellite or Map view.
Protesting Online
On April 1, 2016, our office implemented an online protest form. Over 400 external users utilized the form and avoided the hassle of driving downtown to the administration building, as well as avoided the hassle of finding and paying for parking downtown.
Social Media Pages
In 2015, our office created multiple social media pages including; Facebook, Instagram, twitter, google+, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We post about Outreach meetings that our office is hosting; while also encouraging our employees with an Employee of the month. We have a feature post called Fact of the Week. The Fact of the Week, shares information educating followers about exemptions and benefits that can lower their property taxes. In addition, it illustrates the responsibilities that our office has.
An important part of our social media page is that it allows constituents to rate us. This review page is mentioned in every chat that is conducted by our chat agents, and is encouraged to every walk-in visitor.
Feedback
Customer Service is a vital aspect of our office. We provide a service causing Santa Fe County residents to have no other option but to rely upon us. It is important that our staff provide the highest customer service experience possible. We have implemented various ways to collect feedback from constituents. Each walk-in visitor is provided the option to rate the Employee before they leave. Appraisers now have a QR code on the back of each business card, that when scanned will direct the device to an online feedback survey made specifically for that appraiser. To encourage transparent customer service, feedback is posted on our Social media pages, as well as our “Office Feedback” page on our website.
