County Commissioner Kathy Holian will Host A Fire Safety Community Meeting on June 8
Santa Fe, NM – June 3, 2011 - Santa Fe County Commissioner Kathy Holian will host a meeting to discuss fire safety for residents in Los Cerros, Arroyo Hondo and Sunlit Hills on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Hondo Fire Station 2, 645 Old Las Vegas Highway. Any Santa Fe County resident who would like to learn more about this important topic is invited to attend the community meeting, regardless of which district they reside in.
Krys Nystrom from the Santa Fe County Fire Safety Division will be demonstrating the SimTable (a tool that helps visualize the spread of fires in three dimensions). Buster Patty from the Santa Fe County Fire Department will talk about how to protect yourself and your home and Martin Vigil, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will be present to answer any questions and provide safety information. In addition, Chief Tom Chilton of the Hondo Volunteer Fire Department will talk about recent fires in the area.
Important note: Hondo 2 Fire Station is off of Old Las Vegas Highway just to the south of the intersection with U.S. Hwy 285. This fire station is not to be confused with the Hondo Volunteer Fire station on Seton Village Drive.
