County Commissioner Kathy Holian will Host A Fire Safety Community Meeting on June 22
Santa Fe, NM – June 20, 2011 – Santa Fe County Commissioner Kathy Holian will host a second community meeting to discuss fire safety for residents in District 4 on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Hondo Fire Station 2, 645 Old Las Vegas Highway. All interested residents are encourage to attend.
“We had a great response from our first community meeting and felt it was necessary to host a second meeting to continue to get fire safety information into the community, especially during the current level of fire danger,” said Commissioner Kathy Holian.
Santa Fe County Fire Department Staff will be present to discuss all aspects of fire safety. Speakers will include Krys Nystrom, Santa Fe County Fire Safety Division to demonstrate the spread of fires in three dimensions and Buster Patty, County Fire Department Fire Captain will discuss protecting yourself and your home. Martin Vigil, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will also be available to answer questions and provide safety information and Hondo Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tom Chilton will talk about recent fires in the area.
Important note: Hondo 2 Fire Station is off of Old Las Vegas Highway just to the south of the intersection with U.S. Hwy 285. This fire station is not to be confused with the Hondo Volunteer Fire station on Seton Village Drive.
