County Commissioner Liz Stefanics Will Host A Series of Community Meetings

Santa Fe, NM – June 2, 2011 - Santa Fe County Commissioner Liz Stefanics will host three Community Meetings for any interested resident during June to provide a summary of County matters and happenings. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend any meeting.

Meeting Schedule
• Monday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Tienda Performance Space in Eldorado, 7 Caliente Road for Eldorado, the 285 Corridor, Lamy and Canoncito.

• Monday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amy Biehl Elementary School Auditorium, 301 Ave Del Sur for the Community College District, which includes Tierra Contenta, Oshara, Rancho Viejo and the Governor Miles area.

• Monday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Turquoise Trail Fire Station, 3 Turquoise Trail Court for Longford, Valle Vista, Turquoise Trail, Silverado, San Marcos and surrounding areas.

Sheriff Robert Garcia and his staff along with Acting Fire Chief Dave Sperling will be present to address public safety issues. County Manager Katherine Miller or Deputy Manager Penny Ellis-Green will discuss the finances of the county and introduce county staff from the Attorney’s Office, Growth Management Department, Community Services Department, Utilities and Public Works Division to answer questions and provide information. Julia Valdez, District 5 Constituent Liaison will be available at the meetings to assist with individual concerns that may require follow up.

“Talking and working with constituents is the most important component of being a commissioner along with the policy decision making of the County," stated Commissioner Stefanics.
