County Conducts Feasibility Study for waste water system in Sombrillo

Santa Fe County is currently conducting a feasibility study of a waste water system in the Sombrillo community in Northern  Santa Fe County – and the possible options available to meet both water and waste water needs in the area.  One of the options being considered is using Santa Clara Pueblo’s infrastructure capacity to provide services to Santa Fe County communities located adjacent to and near the Pueblo.

The County and the Pueblo will be able to resume discussions once the Pueblo’s election process is complete and its administration is in place for 2008.  “We are encouraged by the cooperation and attention that Santa Clara Pueblo has given to this matter” said Santa Fe County Commissioner Harry Montoya “Water quality for Northern New Mexico residents demands collaboration of the highest magnitude from all affected government and community agencies.”
