The Santa County Extension Office announces an educational event for residents interested in thrifty tips on growing their own herbs and vegetables in tough economic times; using water more efficiently; and bringing natural beauty into their lives. Enjoy free lectures, demonstrations, exhibits, activities for kids, and shop their famous plant sale.

When:Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 10:00 to 4:00

Where:Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, 3229 Rodeo Road in Santa Fe.

Keynote Speaker:Deborah Madison, chef, author, founding member of the Slow Food Movement, will make a presentation titled “The Garden: A Cook’s Treasure.” Book signing to follow.

Sponsored by Santa Fe Master Gardener Association and Santa Fe Greenhouses. Garden tool sharpening plus food and beverages available all day.
