County Increases Wages for Correctional Officers
Santa Fe – March 27, 2007 – Santa Fe County Manager Roman Abeyta
announced today that Santa Fe County Corrections Officers will be getting a
temporary wage increase effective immediately. The details of the amount of the
increase are being ironed out. “This is a necessary first step” said Abeyta “We
are losing good people to surrounding correctional facilities because the County
has not been competitive. We must act now – we are currently in negotiations
with the union to come up with a more permanent solution.”
