County Invites Community to Watershed Workshop

The Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails Department invites the community to a Santa Fe Watershed workshop to help the Santa Fe River and learn simple practical techniques to use on their own land to cultivate water, prevent erosion, and support plants. The workshop is on October 17 & 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at San Isidro Park (San Ysidro Crossing and Alameda). The workshop is free but participants must register by October 15 via email pamelad@santafewatershed.org or phone 820.1696.

Participants will learn ways to take advantage of storm water to produce vegetation, minimize erosion, and restore wildlife habitat through hands-on experience. The workshop is free and open to all but space is limited. No previous experience in restoration or water harvesting necessary just the willingness to work, get dirty, and have fun. The talk is funded by a grant from the Fish and Wildlife Foundation and support by Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails.
