County Manager Katherine Miller and Assistant County Manager Erik Aaboe will lead the County vs. City Bike-to-Work Week Challenge

Santa Fe, NM – May 14, 2014 - Santa Fe County Manager Katherine Miller and Assistant County Manager Erik Aaboe will lead the Bike-to-Work Week Government Challenge on Friday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m. The Challenge is to see who can gather more employees to ride together to the festivities at the Railyard in celebration of Bike-to-Work Week. The competition ride will start at the Santa Fe County Administration Building, 102 Grant Ave.

Santa Fe County is calling on all employees to participate in the bike challenge. Employees that participate will be granted administrative leave during the event.

As part of the Bike-to-Work Week celebration, there will be a Kids Bike Rodeo on Friday, May 16 from 5 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. at the Railyard. During the Kids Bike Rodeo there will be a one mile timed loop for the kids. The Santa Fe Police Department will also be on hand to discuss road safety and road rules. Santa Fe County and City of Santa Fe staff will also be discussing bike safety and giving away kids bike helmets.

In a joking response to a City of Santa Fe press release recently disseminated, Santa Fe County Manager, Katherine Miller said, “We got the Challenge and we will see you Friday.”
