County Releases Revised Short-Term Rental Ordinance
SANTA FE, NM – Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) will hold a final public hearing to consider an ordinance to regulate short-term rentals in Santa Fe County at the October 25th Board of County Commissioners meeting. The revised proposed ordinance, titled the Short-Term Rental Regulation and Licensing Ordinance, has been updated since its second public hearing at the September 27th Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The purpose and intent of the Ordinance is to establish regulations and licensing standards and procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of short-term renters, protect the peace and enjoyment of surrounding communities, protect water resources and the environment, and otherwise promote health and general welfare of the County. The proposed regulations will include: Findings, Purpose and Intent; Definitions; Permissible Locations; License and Notice Requirements; Procedures; and Regulations/Requirements.

The public hearings is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2022, no earlier than 5:00 p.m. at the County Administrative Building, located at 102 Grant Avenue, Santa Fe NM, in the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioner’s Chambers on the 2nd Floor. Members of the public can listen and participate in the meeting virtually via WebEx. Please see the BCC’s final meeting agendas for details on how to participate via WebEx. The BCC’s meeting agendas can be viewed on the County's BCC webpage.
Comments, questions, and objections may also be submitted in advance of these public hearing via email to ncrail@santafecountynm.gov and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on October 25, 2022, to ensure that they are provided to the BCC before the public hearing.
All interested parties will be heard at the public hearings prior to the BCC taking action on the proposed ordinance.
