County Road Maintenance Addresses Concerns During Monsoon Season

Santa Fe County is experiencing a very active monsoon season. Recent rains have damaged county roads and have left many roads impassable at times. Santa Fe County road maintenance crews have been busy around the clock clearing County roads and low water crossings to make them passable.

County roads that have minimal silt and debris are not priority at this time. Crews will continue to make County roads passable and will return to those that need cleaning and repairs at a later date.

County roads are identified by a street name sign that is blue with yellow lettering. As per State law, road maintenance shall not be performed on private roads, unless a “State of Emergency” is declared by the Governor and adopted by the Board of County Commissioners. In the event of a life and death emergency, the Public Works Department will assist emergency services by reaching residents, on private roads, that are impassable.

To report a county road concern, please contact the Public Works Department at (505) 992-3010. To report an emergency county road condition after hours and weekends please call (505) 428-3700
