County to Lead \"Reservation Only\" Tours of Petroglyph Hill

The Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails Program is offering two docent lead tours to Petroglyph Hill on the County’s Thornton Ranch property near the village of Galisteo this summer. The property is closed to the public and features hundreds of prehistoric and historic petroglyphs, as well as panoramic views of the Galisteo Basin.

Each tour is limited to 15 participants and takes approximately 2 hours. The dates and times of the tours are as follows: Saturday, July 25 (5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.) and Sunday, August 23 (9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.). Participants will hike a short distance and need to negotiate uneven and rocky terrain.

To reserve a space in either tour, call 992-9857 or bmills@santafecounty.org.
