County/City Work Together To Address Alcohol Abuse: Hold Special Meeting, Call For New Action

The Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners will be meeting with the Santa Fe City Council today in a joint session to consider the adoption of a new resolution that will create a joint County/City work group consisting of elected leaders who will meet with local community groups involved in addressing alcohol abuse. The resolution, co-sponsored by Commissioner Montoya, Commissioner Vigil, Mayor Coss, and Councilor Dominguez, would require, within sixty days, the work group to report back to the governing bodies of the County and City, in a joint meeting, recommendations related to treatment, education and outreach programs for the local community who are in need of help to address alcohol and drug abuse in their lives.

The joint County/City meeting will be broadcast today live on www.santafenm.gov(click on SFGTV 28 webcast in the upper right corner). The webcast will go live as soon as the Special Joint Meeting is called to order at 5:00 p.m.
