Deadline For Property Owners to Protest Property Tax Is Wednesday Says County Assessor

Santa Fe– June 11, 2007 – The Santa Fe County Assessor’s office has said that due to statutory directives, Wednesday, June 13th, will be the last day that a property owner who claims their undeliverable Notice of Value to protest it’s content. By law, the County Assessor needs to certify values to the Property Tax Division of the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. “We have had some people come in to search for their Notice of Value when they didn’t receive it”, said Santa Fe County Assessor Domingo Martinez, “The majority of those notices are still undeliverable.”
