El Dia de San Isidro, Blessing of the River
Santa Fe – May 18 2010 – Santa Fe County would like to remind residents El Dia de San Isidro, Blessing of the River is today at 5:30 p.m. The event will begin with a procession to the river followed by a blessing. The procession will start from the San Isidro Church in the Village of Agua Fria, 3552 Agua Fria St. at 6:00 p.m. After the blessing, everyone is invited to the Nancy Rodriguez Community Center, 1 Prairie Dog Loop for refreshments.
“This event is not only rich in tradition and unique to this community, but it is a testament to the respect the Village of Agua Fria has for the river,” said Commissioner Virginia Vigil.
The Historic Village of Agua Fria Residents, San Isidro Church, El Camino Real River Connection, Santa Fe County Open Space and Trails, and the Santa Fe Watershed Association support the event.
