Eldorado and Jacona Solid Waste Convenience Transfer Stations Accept Green Waste (tree branches and brush)

Santa Fe – June 8, 2010 – Santa Fe County Eldorado and Jacona Solid Waste Convenience Stations accept green waste (tree branches and brush). Residents who hold a solid waste punch pass can take green waste to either of these solid waste convenience stations. The County grinds the green waste into mulch that residents can pick up free of charge at either location. Green waste cannot exceed 9 ft. in length and 24 inches in diameter. Tree stumps are not allowed. Weeds cannot be mulched and must be bagged and tossed away as trash.

“We anticipate as the word gets out more residents will take advantage of this service. Now that the weather is warm, people start to clean their yards,” said Olivar Barela, Santa Fe County Solid Waste Manager.
