Groundbreaking for REDI Middle-Mile Broadband Network, August 15

Santa Fe, NM – August 12, 2011 — Santa Fe County would like to invite residents to the groundbreaking of the REDI Middle-Mile Broadband Network (REDI Net) on August 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Rio Arriba County Senior Center, 320 Hunter street. REDI Net is a high-speed, open access broadband network that will be built in Northern New Mexico.

Remarks from Senator Bingaman, Representative Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM), Senator Tom Udall's office, and project partners will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Mision y Convento, 1 Calle de los Espanoles and an open house will follow from 11:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m. Maps and event information are available at www.ncnmedd.com.

Project Partners include, in alphabetical order, the City of Española, Los Alamos County, the North Central New Mexico Economic Development District, Ohkay Owingeh, Pojoaque Pueblo, Rio Arriba County, Santa Clara Pueblo, Santa Fe County and Tesuque Pueblo. REDI Net is funded by $10.6 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
