Health Insurance Community Meeting on Saturday, May 17
Santa Fe, NM – May 16, 2014 - Santa Fe County is sponsoring a special health insurance community meeting on Saturday, May 17. The community meeting is from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Glorieta Fire Station, 43 Firestation Rd, Glorieta, NM 87035.
In the last six months, new options have opened up for New Mexico residents for either low-cost or free medical insurance due to actions at the state and federal level. Experts will be available to answer questions about individual situations. Residents will be able to register for health insurance during this event.
If you would like to register for an insurance plan you will need the following:
- Proof of ID (State-issued photo ID or a student/work ID with a photo)
- Proof of Citizenship or Legal Residence
Proof of Income with one of the following:
- Last two current paystubs if you are paid bi-weekly
- Last four paystubs if you are paid weekly
- Last paystub if you are paid monthly
- Current tax returns if you are self-employed
“This is a great opportunity to find out how you can improve your access to health care,” said Commissioner Holian.
The Santa Fe County Mobile Health Van (MHV) will also be at the Glorieta Fire Station during the event. The MHV provides free health screening including: blood pressure screenings, blood glucose checks, oxygen assessments, cholesterol checks and can also explain low-cost medical services available in Santa Fe County.
