Join in the Fun! Santa Fe County is getting our First Rain Water Garden!

The El Camino Real Trail will receive the first Rain Water Garden in Santa Fe County on Friday, October 13, 2017. The project installation will consist of reshaping the basin, planting, rip rap placement and will include a great discussion on how valuable rain water is! If you want to join us, meet at 11 a.m. at the trailhead (located at Constellation Drive and Airport Road).

Keep Santa Fe Beautiful and the Santa Fe Watershed helped fund the County’s first rain garden. Santa Fe Watershed Association and Santa Fe County volunteer program partnered to seek out the perfect location for capturing storm water in the county to cleanse and return it to the Santa Fe River.

Santa Fe County’s Community Services Volunteer Program will complete the County’s first Rain Garden (stormwater catch basin). The installation will primarily be done by volunteers and with the help of the Master’s Program Charter High School.
