July 31, 2012 BCC Summary

Santa Fe, NM – August 2, 2012 - Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All five Commissioners were present.

The BCC approved the Canvassing Board meeting minutes from June 8 and 15.

The BCC also approved the regular meeting minutes from June 26, 2012.

The Consent Calendar was unanimously approved.

Presentations

  • Melanie Ramirez and Maricela Martinez were recognized for completing the Santa Fe County College for Working Adults Program and obtaining their Associates Degree in Accounting.
  • Shane Todd, Battalion Chief was recognized for his 22 years and 11 months of dedicated services, Todd is retiring from Santa Fe County.
  • William Andy Winn was recognized as Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter in 2012.
  • The County Fair is August 2 – August 5 and all residents are invited to attend. The County Fair will be held at The Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, 3229 Rodeo Road.
  • The Santa Fe County Finance Division was recognized for their Presentation of Governmental Finance Officers Association Distinguished Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Award for Fiscal Year 2012.
  • Arlene Cisneros Sena was awarded for being the Spanish Market 2012 Recipient of the Master’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Treasurer’s Office

The BCC temporarily adjourned and reconvened as the Santa Fe County Board of Finance. County Treasurer, Victor Montoya presented the Investment Portfolio and Investment Plan through December 31, 2012. The Investment Report and Plan was unanimously approved. The Board of Finance then adjourned and reconvened as the BCC.

Administrative Services Department

Agreement #2012-0143-PW/MS with Albuquerque Asphalt, Inc. for the road improvements to Caja Del Rio Road for a total compensation of $3,564,235.85, exclusive of NM Gross Receipts Tax (GRT) was unanimously approved.

Community Services Department

Amendment No. 1 to exercise option to extend Professional Service Agreement No. 2012-0052 DWI/TRV with CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for Detoxification Services for an additional year through June 30, 2013 and to increase compensation for the additional year by $300,000 was unanimously approved.

Public Works Department

A Resolution to place three General Obligation Bond questions on the ballot and submitted to the Qualified Electors of Santa Fe County at the General Election on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 was unanimously approved.

Public Safety Department

Public Safety Director Pablo Sedillo III, presented an overview of the Santa Fe County Department of Corrections.
