June 12, 2012 BCC Summary

Santa Fe, NM – June 13, 2012 – Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All five Commissioners were present.

The BCC approved the minutes from the May 8, 2012 Budget Study Session and the May 8, 2012 regular meeting.

An update on the Santa Fe County Fair was provided by the Rodeo Royalty.

The Consent Calendar was approved.

Public Safety Department

  • The BCC approved Resolution 2012-75, a Resolution to proclaim extreme or severe drought conditions within Santa Fe County and to ban the sale and use of certain fireworks in the unincorporated portions of the County and within wildlands in the County.

Public Works Department

  • Resolution 2012-76, a resolution to budget $250,000 for the planning and preliminary studies necessary for the redevelopment of the current First Judicial Court Facility was unanimously approved.
  • A presentation of the draft Capital Improvement Plan and Project Financing and Selection was presented to the BCC by Adam Leigland, Public Works Director.

Growth Management Department

  • Penny Ellis-Green, Assistant County Manager provided an overview of the purposed Public Review Process for the Sustainable Land Development Code (SLDC).

Community Services Department

  • Rachel O’Connor and Lupe Sanchez gave a presentation to the BCC regarding the County Chauffeur and Designated Driver (CADDy) program changes.

Matters From the Commission

Proclamations

  • The BCC unanimously approved a Proclamation declaring June 2012 as Kitchen Angels Month.

Public Hearings

Ordinances

  • Ordinance 2012-8, an emergency ordinance declaring hazardous fire conditions and imposing restrictions on open fires, smoking and other ignition sources was unanimously approved.

  • BCC Case # MIS 12-5220 Piccolino Italian Restaurant, Inc. Liquor License – Approved (5-0)
  • BCC Case # MIS 12-5230 Encantado Lender LLC Liquor License – Approved (5-0)
  • CDRC Case # V 12-5080 David Vigil Variance – Approved (5-0)
  • CDRC Case # V 12-5050 Andres M. Garcia Variance – Approved (3-2 with Commissioner Vigil and Holian voting against)
  • CDRC Case # V 12-5001 Camino De Paz School And Farm Variance- Approved (5-0)
  • CDRC Case # MP/PDP 12-5000 Camino De Paz School And Farm Master Plan/Preliminary Development Plan - Approved (5-0)
