June 25, 2013 BCC Summary

Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC), all five commissioners were present.

The meeting minutes from the May 28, 2013 BCC meeting were unanimously approved.

Proclamations and Presentations

  • Presentation by the Food Policy Council on the Food Plan for the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County
  • Update and information on the 2013 Santa Fe County Fair
  • A Proclamation recognizing the contributions of the Santa Fe Conservation Trust was unanimously approved (4-0 Commissioner Chavez was not present for vote)
  • Certificates of Recognition were presented to Planning and Land Use Code Enforcement Inspectors Gene Portillo, Rick Lovato and Eloy Griego

Appointments/Reappointments/Resignations

  • David Saldivar was appointed to the DWI Planning Council
  • Allan Bendorf was appointed to the Health Policy And Planning Commission 

Miscellaneous

  • The BCC unanimously approved three purchase orders in excess of $250,000 for various road projects
  • A lease with Georgia Place, L.L.C. for office rental space for the Santa Fe County Assessor’s Office located at 128 Grant, total Amount of $23,814.00 was approved (3-2 with Commissioner Mayfield and Commissioner Anaya voting against)
  • The BCC unanimously approved (4-0 Commissioner Kathy Holian was not present for the vote) Amendment No. 1 to the sublease between Pueblo of Pojoaque Enterprise Corporation and Santa Fe County to extend the use of office space through June 30, 2015, located at 5 West Gutierrez Street, Suite 9, Santa Fe, NM for a satellite office to serve the northern area of the County

Health and Human Services

  • The Board Of County Commissioners temporarily adjourned and reconvened as the Santa Fe County Indigent Hospital & Healthcare Board

Growth Management

  • The BCC unanimously approved Resolution No. 2013-62, a Resolution to commission and authorize certain Growth Management Department staff and the enforcement officer for the Solid Waste Division to issue citations for violations of County Ordinances and Associated Waiver of Requirements of Resolution No. 2013-026

Administrative Services Department

  • The BCC unanimously approved Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 2011-0269-FI/MS lodgers tax advertising and promotional services with Impressions Advertising in the amount of $300,000, inclusive of Gross Receipts Tax (GRT)
  • The BCC unanimously approved Change Order No. 1 to Agreement No. 2013-0099-OS/PL with Longhorn Construction Services, Inc. for construction services for the Edgewood Open Space in the amount of $106,720.00 for a total contract amount of $763,649.00 exclusive of GRT

Finance Department

  • The BCC unanimously approved authorization of the use of District 5 Capital Funds, per Capital Outlay Policy, allocating $20,000 for the purchase of playground equipment
  • The BCC unanimously approved Resolution No. 2013-63, a Resolution authorizing the donation of a Fire Department engine truck to the Village Of Pecos, San Miguel County Fire Department in accordance with state statute and associated waiver of requirements of Resolution No. 2013-026

Human Resources Department

  • The BCC unanimously approved Amendment No. 4 to the collective bargaining agreement between Santa Fe County and the Santa Fe County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, a subsidiary of the New Mexico Coalition of Public Safety Officers
  • The BCC unanimously approved Amendment No. 1 to the collective bargaining agreement between Santa Fe County and the New Mexico Coalition of Public Safety Officers
  • The BCC unanimously approved Amendment No. 4 to the collective bargaining agreement between Santa Fe County and the New Mexico Coalition of Public Safety Officers on behalf of the Santa Fe County covered Corrections Department Employees
  • The BCC unanimously approved approval of the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement

Public Hearings - Ordinances

  • The BCC unanimously approved Ordinance No. 2013-4, an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1992-03 to establish the right to obtain a duplicate business license and establishing a fee for issuance of a duplicate business license
