“Santa Fe County Day” at the Roundhouse on Jan. 29

Join us for “Santa Fe County Day” on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the New Mexico State Capitol in the East Halls of History from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. to honor all Santa Fe County residents, past and present, for their contributions for creating an inclusive atmosphere honoring our diverse cultures and traditions. Santa Fe County will have 12 information tables set up in the East Halls of History throughout the morning to discuss programs, events and services provided by Santa Fe County government. At noon a Press Conference will be held in the Rotunda.

County Commission Chair, Robert A. Anaya will speak on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners regarding the cultural diversity of the County and Commission Vice-Chair, Miguel Chavez will speak focusing on the artistic element of Santa Fe County during the press conference. Senator Nancy Rodriguez and Representative Luciano “Lucky” Varela will also speak during the press conference.

This is the first year the State of New Mexico legislature has officially declared a “Santa Fe County Day” the theme of the day is “Progress with Traditions in Mind”. The legislature honors and promotes the strong traditions and tri-cultural history of New Mexico and the great variety of cultures and traditions represented in Santa Fe County that has created for a wondrous and unique community as a whole in Santa Fe County.
