Missing It Equipment Found
Santa Fe – March 6, 2007 – After rechecking equipment stored at a Santa Fe County building, the
two missing items, a router and a switch, were found in unopened boxes. The items were reported
missing last week while County staff was doing inventory with the equipment vendor on the stored
equipment.
During the inventory process, the two boxes were marked off a shipping list by comparing the list to
the labels on the outside of the boxes instead of actually opening the packaging. When the boxes
were opened to verify the contents, the missing equipment was found.
A police report was filed with the Santa Fe Police Department on Friday when, after checking through
opened boxes, the equipment was missing. It was being investigated as a larceny because the value
of the equipment was so high and there was no evidence of unlawful entry into the building.
“As a matter of procedure, we report matters like this to the authorities”, said Santa Fe County
Manager Roman Abeyta “We’re relieved that this story had a happy ending.”
