New Edgewood to Santa Fe Bus Route Starts September 6, 2011

Santa Fe, NM- September 2, 2011 - Santa Fe County Commissioner Robert Anaya in conjunction with the North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) announce new weekday bus service from Edgewood to Santa Fe. The new route will begin Tuesday, September 6, 2011.

"I'm glad to see the result of my effort along with the efforts of the Santa Fe County Commission, the Regional Planning Authority, and work of the NCRTD will result in service to the southern part of Santa Fe County and to those who commute between Edgewood and Santa Fe. We hope riders will take advantage of the free ride when service begins on September 6, 2011," said Santa Fe County Commissioner Robert Anaya.

The route includes Edgewood, Moriarty, Stanley and Galisteo with stops in Santa Fe at St. Vincent Hospital, the PERA Building, South Capital Rail Runner Station, NMED District 2 on Camino Edward Ortiz and the Santa Fe County Detention Center. The morning commute begins at 5:55 am at the Edgewood Senior Center, on to the Park & Ride Lot in Moriarty at the Moriarty Business Park, then just north of the Post Office in Stanley, and in Galisteo where NM 41 meets County Road 42. Passengers will arrive in Santa Fe by approximately 7:00 am and passengers should arrive at all destinations by 7:45 am.

The return to Edgewood (in reverse) will begin with the first bus stop at 4:30 pm and arrive at the last stop in Edgewood at approximately 6:35 pm. The NCRTD will provide a driver for the route until several daily riders train as drivers. The bus holds 12 passengers and is equipped to hold two bikes.
