Notice of Richards Avenue Road Closure
Notice of Richards Avenue Road Closure
Santa Fe, NM – June 29, 2011- Santa Fe County and Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) would like to inform residents that construction for the new Richards Avenue roundabout has been rescheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 5 and continue through Thursday, July 21.
A traffic control plan was developed in cooperation with Santa Fe County that will expedite construction and limit traffic delays. In the event of an emergency or mass evacuation Richards Avenue will be made accessible. Please be advised that emergency response vehicles will be accommodated and provided safe passage through the construction zone during the closure.
Access to Richards Avenue from Rancho Viejo is still available by utilizing Dinosaur Trail. Rancho Viejo residents are encouraged to use Hwy 14 and I-25 for access into town. Those traveling to the campus from Rancho Viejo should use Dinosaur Trail to access Richards Ave. and the College. The current entrance to the campus will remain open during this closure and this closure will not affect traffic traveling from the current SFCC entrance to and from Rodeo Road.
Following the completion of the Richards Avenue roundabout, SFCC will proceed with the campus driveway improvements and begin construction of the SFCC north entrance and renovation of the College Drive roundabout.
Santa Fe County would like to thank all residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during this construction period.
