November 8 BCC Meeting Summary

Santa Fe – November 10, 2011 – Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All five of the Commissioners were present.

Approval of Consent Calendar:

The Commission unanimously [5-0] approved the consent calendar which included:

Final Orders

•CDRC Case # V 11-5180 John Robertson Variance. John Robertson, Applicant, Requested A Variance Of Article III, Section 10 (Lot Size Requirements) Of The Land Development Code To Allow A Second Dwelling Unit On 10.17 Acres.

•CDRC Case # V 11-5200 Jesus Garcia-Solis Variance. Jesus Garcia-Solis, Applicant, Requested A Variance Of Ordinance No. 2002-9, (La Cienega/La Cieneguilla Traditional Community Zoning District), Section 6.4.2 To Allow A Second Dwelling Unit On 2.53 Acres.

•A Resolution Requesting An Operating Transfer From The General Fund To The Property Valuation Fund To Repair A County Vehicle Involved In An Accident in the amount of $1,856.12. (Assessor's Office)

Matters from the Commission:

•A resolution endorsing funding for operation, management and maintenance of County open lands, parks and trails and to continue to work with the Trust for Public Lands was unanimously approved.

•A resolution of support for the film and media industry economic development activities as a means to achieve a sustainable local economy and to stimulate local job creation and retention was unanimously approved.

•A proclamation recognizing Matthew Beaver's courageous battle with bone cancer was unanimously approved.

Appointments/Reappointments/Resignations:

Dan Drobnis was appointed as the new District 5 County Development Review Committee member.

Human Resources Department:

•Agreements with the New Mexico Coalition of Public Safety Officers Regional Emergency Communication Center and Sheriff's Deputy Union were unanimously approved by the Commission.

Matters from the Ethics Board:

•An Ordinance enacting amendments to the Santa Fe County Code of Conduct were approved [5-0] which includes expanding the Ethics Board to five members, amending definitions, disclosures to require affirmative disclosure of conflicts and the repeal of inconsistent language.

Public Works Department

•An Ordinance Amending Ordinance 1998-16 which includes amendments to the provisions for extension of sewer service, procedures, rates and design standards to address calculation errors and deficiencies in the original language was unanimously approved.

•An agreement with the Club at Las Campanas to be a raw water supply/wholesale 2 customer was approved by a majority [4-1] voice vote with Commissioner Mayfield voting against. The agreement was approved with one amendment that would allow for the County to use the surplus raw water that the Club at Las Campanas may not use in any given year. The increase to the County's customer base will improve the Utilities' ability to maintain reasonable and affordable rates for all classes of service.
