October 9, 2012 BCC Summary

Santa Fe, NM – October 11, 2012 - Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC). All five Commissioners were present.

The BCC approved the August 14, 2012 and August 28, 2012 BCC minutes.

The Consent Calendar was unanimously approved.

Presentations

The BCC heard presentations on Region III initiatives, history and concerns from the Agua Fria Village and Buckman Direct Diversion (BDD) system operations and future perspectives.

Proclamations

A Proclamation to raise awareness of domestic violence during the month of October was unanimously approved.

A Certificate of Recognition was unanimously approved for David Padilla, Santa Fe County Public Works Project Manager. David was the recipient of the New Mexico Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Community Hero Award for the Esperanza Shelter.

Growth Management Department

The Board unanimously approved authorization to Publish Title and General Summary of an Ordinance Amending Article 3, Section 3.2 Of Ordinance No. 2008-10 (Flood Damage Prevention and Stormwater Management Ordinance) to adopt the new Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).

Finance Division

Resolution No. 2012-136, a Resolution requesting a budget increase in the amount of $35,000 to the 2010B Series Capital Outlay Gross Receipts Tax (GRT) Revenue Bond Fund (338) to budget available cash to study a means of delivering raw water to Las Campanas when the Buckman Direct Diversion is off line was approved (3-2 with Commissioners Anaya and Mayfield voting against).

Community Services Department

The BCC unanimously approved $395,000 for supplemental Sole Community providers.

Public Works Department

A Resolution allocating the proceeds of the sale of the Top of the World Ranch water rights as part of the Aamodt Water Rights Settlement agreement was tabled.

An Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between the Eldorado Area Water and Sanitation District and The Board Of County Commissioners of Santa Fe County regarding mutual water services cooperation was unanimously approved.

Matters From The Commission

Resolution No. 2012-138, a Resolution instructing Santa Fe County members and the alternate member of the Buckman Direct Diversion Board not to vote on the issue of placing supplemental Fluoride compounds in the water supply was unanimously approved.

Public Hearings (Growth Management Department)

CDRC Case # V 12-5150 Victor & Patsy Roybal Land Division Variance - was not approved (3-2 with Commissioners Anaya and Mayfield voting in favor of the variance).
