Office of Emergency Management Seeks Members for Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
Santa Fe, NM- The Office of Emergency Management is seeking representatives from law enforcement, Pueblo/Tribal government, firefighting, and registered community organizations under Santa Fe County’s Sustainable Land Development Code to join the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). The LEPC is responsible for developing an emergency response plan, including a Hazardous Materials Emergency Plan, to address hazardous chemicals.
Members must be residents of the county or affiliated with an organization operating within the county. All appointments are subject to confirmation by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) based on letters of interest and qualifications.
Key responsibilities and details:
LEPC members shall serve a two-year term.
Attend regular meetings at least quarterly or as determined by the LEPC or the Chairperson.
Informs the public about the chemicals present in the community.
