Pay Property Taxes Online: CountyTreasurer Unveils New Service

Santa Fe County Treasurer Victor A. Montoya announced today that property taxpayers now have access to the Treasurer’s “Online Payment & Property Tax Information Site.” This project has been a top priority for Montoya since taking office.  â€œImproving customer service is my goal,” says Montoya “The online payment option is faster and more convenient for many property owners to make bi-annual tax payments.  This service is available to any taxpayer with access to a computer and the internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

Online payments will incur a 2.35% per transaction cost for service.  The fees go directlyto Pay Point (the company handling the transaction) and the credit card companies.  Taxpayers may use MasterCard and Visa to pay their taxes initially; American Express and Discover Card will be added by the end of November.

Payments can now be made online at the Santa Fe County’s web site, www.santafecountynm.gov, where residents can access the online payment link on the Treasurer’s page or by using the “Quick Links” side bar and selecting “online payments” which will take taxpayers to a secure online form they can fill out to process their payment.

Tax bills for the 2008 tax year were mailed on October 31, 2008, as a reminder, taxes are due November 10, 2008 and delinquent after December 10, 2008 for the 1sthalf of the tax year.  Payments can still be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office located at 102 Grant Avenue, Santa Fe, NM or can be dropped in the overnight drop box outside the building.  For more information, call 986-6245.
