PNM has Planned Power Outage In Eldorado Area
Santa Fe, NM - January 13, 2014 – Santa Fe County has been in communication with PNM and would like to notify Eldorado area residents of a planned outage on Friday, January 17, 2014 between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. that will allow PNM to perform needed work on portions of the distribution system. It will affect approximately 128 customers for 10 minutes and another 356 customers who will be without power for approximately 45 minutes. PNM said all affected customers should have received a phone call notifying them in advance of the outage.
According to PNM :
- They will be installing more modern equipment that will help improve the safety and reliability of this part of the distribution system
- Ongoing work on the distribution system is necessary to keep power reliable for our customers
- They are installing new load-break gears that will allow line crews to safely work on equipment
PNM stated they realize there is no time of day or night when a power outage is convenient and they try to schedule work when it will cause the least inconvenience for the customer. During the day, many residential customers are out of their homes and it is also the warmer part of the day. PNM also tries to minimize the number of customers who will be affected if at all possible.
